World Cup Final is on at 7:30pm so we will all probably be watching in club after the cricket. 30 June 2010 Bruce Ruthven Appeal for new coaches for Season 2010-2011. Any parents, guardians or volunteers who would like to become involved in the mini, midi or youth section should contact Bruce for more deails. At all levels the club has a growing number of participants and it is crucial that volunteers get involved in the club to allow the players to develop and continue to enjoy their rugby. Commitment is Saturday mornings from 10am -12 noon with the occassional trip south for competitions and tournaments. Please note that any commitment would be appreciated even if only on a fortnightly or rota basis. A new initiative that seeks volunteers is the beginning of Rugby Rookies for Primary 2-3 children promoting Tag Rugby. It is hoped that children of this age grade will receive tag Rugby training and games at St.Andrews, Kirkwall and Dounby from September 2010 on a Saturday morning to run in conjunction with the rest of the youth section. This new initiative will only progress with new additonal support coaches/volunteers. Results from the 1RM Bench Press clearly showed big improvements from initial testing! This programme will continue at the club on Wednesday nights from 5:30pm until 7pm, with added emphasis now on Speed and Agility, Sprint training and specific mechanics of movement. 'Back' there doesn't appear to be any inside info available yet but you can obviously look at the 2009 season table to see who the competitiors are.
