I am writing this Letter on behalf of Orkney Rugby Football Club as we are looking to recruit more volunteers to help within our youth section. The roles we are looking to fill are Coaches, Managers and Helpers. These roles would be within our Rookie/Mini sections at Kirkwall, St Andrews, Dounby and our Under 14-18 teams.
What we are looking for-
Message from Orkney RFC Chairman. What a fantastic couple of days I have witnessed as Chairman of Orkney RFC.
Saturday morning saw 70+ Mini Rugby Players play in the Annual St Andrews Tournament.
Saturday afternoon saw 30 Senior Players take to the Centre Pitch at Picky.
Saturday evening saw 120+ folk wine, dine, dance and bid on a range of fantastic items out at the Harray Hall.
Today, Sunday saw the Ladies Team draw 5 - 5 up in Lerwick when they faced Shetland at Clickimin.
Orkney u16's faced Caithness at Home on the Centre Pitch at Picky and won convincingly 97 points to 17.
Orkney u14's faced Caithness at Home on the Centre Pitch at Picky and won 22 points to 5.
That's approximately 160 Orkney players playing competitive Rugby (and that's not counting our Rookies in Dounby, St Andrews and Kirkwall) over the past two days.
Huge thanks to all of the coaches, adult helpers, referees, caterers, committee members, players, sponsors, club members, club supporters and everyone else who contributes their own time to the Club..
Thanks to everyone that has contributed so much to this weekend and many more before this. Keep up the good work #orkneyrfc #50thanniversary #asone
Orkney RFC are excited to announce the imminent arrival of our new Rugby Development Officer – John Cairns.
