The first game in this section saw the home side, Dounby lose to Kirkwall A by 8 tries to 4. Kirkwall B beat St Andrew’s by 8 tries to 1, St Andrew’s stayed on the pitch and then faced Kirkwall A who beat them by 9 tries to 1. Dounby restored their pride by beating Kirkwall B by 8 tries to 2. Dounby against St Andrew’s produced the highest score of the day as St Andrew’s lost by 10 tries to 5. The final game was the closest when Kirkwall B just edged past their A team-mates by 4 to 3.
This score meant that Dounby won the Ridgeway cup as a result of havng scored the most tries. Players of the Tournament were Ryan McGuiness(Dounby), Andrew Linklater(Kirkwall A), Jordan Thomas(Kirkwall B) and Samuel Murray(St Andrew’s)

This section started with Kirkwall A running in 8 unanswered tries against Kirkwall B, this was followed by a close match between Dounby A and B, with B winning by 3 scores to 1. St Andrew’s started their tournament with a 5 nil victory over Dounby B. Dounby A against Kirkwall B was extremely close but home advantage worked giving Dounby A a 2-1 win. St Andrew’s continued their winning ways with another 5 nil victory, this time over Kirkwall B. Kirkwall A also continued their winning streak with a 4 nil win over Dounby A.
The next game was between the two unbeaten sides, Kirkwall A scored fairly soon after the kick off and from then play moved from end to end but neither side managed to penetrate the others solid defence, leaving the final score 1-0 to Kirkwall A. Kirkwall B against Dounby B was yet another 5-0 scoreline. Dounby A against St Andrew’s saw the home side lose 5 tries to nil. In the last game of the day Dounby B broke through the Kirkwall A defence and ruined their clean sheet, however Kirkwall did win the game 5-1.
This meant that the Coaches Cup went to Kirkwall A. Players of the tournament were Ewan Coltherd(Kirkwall A), Joseph Mills(St Andrew’s), Dounby B(Euan Dunnet), Dounby A(Colin Sinclair) and Darryl Dowel(Kirkwall B)
Thanks go to Iain Carse and Fraser McNaughton for their refereeing which made the games flow so well and helped the players produce such high class Mini Rugby. Also thanks to all those who provided the sandwiches and the much needed soup on such a cold day.
