We all know that Keith "Rickets, Odd-job, Fatty" Oddie is now plying his trade for Aberdeen Grammar FP's in Premier 1, but do you have any idea where any other ex-Orkney RFC players are?
If so, let me know (here) and lets see if we can track them down and get some up-to-date photos and information from them!

Working in Edinburgh for the Scottish Executive sampling the night life in the big smoke! Playing for Grangemouth and trying to see if I can break the record for the number of positional changes in one season!! |
| Best/funniest memory of playing for ORFC: |
Best memory was bein involved in the cup game against Heriots when I walked out onto the pitch and me arms stopped working! First time I was glad to be on the bench! There have been so many funny moments playing for Orkney and the social side afterwards I can hardly pick one! The inter county match against Shetland up there when we got stuck wae fog is an absolute cracker everyone on the Friday night doin the fog dance hoping to get stuck and the big man upstairs delivered and we stayed till Monday!! Brilliant! Also the last great TOUR to Cardiff wae chopper, kev, riggers, sinky and the crew was something il never forget no matter how drunk I was!! |

Just if anyone is in Edinburgh and fancies a pint give me a bell!

| Best/funniest memory of playing for ORFC: |
I had just arrived in Kirkwall from Australia and Sam MacDonald talked me into playing Rugby. My first game for the club was right down near the English border and a journalist from "Rugby World" was along for the trip to write a story on the trouble the club went to so they could play in a National League. We played the game and on the return trip we got caught in a blizzard and couldn't get home. We had to stay 2 or 3 nights in a pub in Thurso. Outside the door of the room I was staying in was a sky light, but it had no glass in it. So each morning there was a pile of snow flakes on the carpet. This was quite a culture shock for a bloke who had just an Australian summer. We had plenty of fun while staying at the pub, but I'm not sure how impressed Kirkwall Grammar School was that I was't available for work. This was one of many happy and enjoyable memories I have of my year in Orkney.( photo attached of sky light in Thurso pub in 98') |

I've attached some photos from 98' and some current ones. I hope you find the 98 ones of interest. Best wishes to boys and girls of the O.R.F.C

| Best/funniest memory of playing for ORFC: |
Mini rugby and the coke and crisps after it. Still at school but going on away trips under the “supervision” of the older “sensible” folk like Finno, Rodney, Clouston etc. McGill playing with a broken arm in Lochaber (who says all Englishman are jessies?) and the same game where Woolfy fractured his head but I don’t think he was allowed to go to hospital until he left his boots for Sam McDonald. |

When is Rodney going to retire? Good luck to ORFC for the rest of the season… |
