Orkney RFC 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee

As Orkney Rugby Club enters its milestone 60th year, we’re delighted to announce a series of special events to mark this historic occasion.

The celebrations will begin on Friday 14th August with two specially selected senior men’s teams taking to the field at Picky.

On Saturday 15th August, our Ladies team, The Dragons, will face an Invitational North District Select side before the main event sees the Orkney 1st XV take on Penguins International.

Following the matches, all participating teams, sponsors and committee members will gather at KGS for refreshments before the evening celebrations begin.
​The evening programme will include speeches from invited guests (details to follow), music and dancing with Bigsy Whalps, and supper. A limited number of tickets will be released for this event shortly, so keep an eye on our social media channels for further details.

60th Anniversary Whisky Pre-Order

To celebrate the club’s Diamond Jubilee, a limited number of 100 bottles have been drawn from a single cask distilled in Glasgow at the now-demolished Port Dundas distillery. Matured for two decades in a refill butt, this whisky was then transferred to an ex-Speyside oloroso hogshead for finishing.

  • Price is £125 per bottle - Bottles 1-15, 60 & 66 are reserved for auction
  • ​Orders are Strictly limited to ONE bottle per current senior / social club member
  • First come, first served basis. Orders are for Collection Only, from the club
  • You can select a bottle number but we cannot guarantee your requested number will be available​
  • Once your pre order form has been accepted, you will be contacted with payment information at the start of July.
