Youth Rugby Match Report | U14 Girls Tournament in Aberdeen 27-9-25

On Saturday 27th, the U14s girls travelled alongside the U16s for a tournament at Aberdeen Wanderers.

The Orkney U16s were due to play Garrioch U16s, and Garrioch youth coaches very kindly arranged for all Aberdeen area clubs to join with their U14s so that the two age groups could play alongside.

Aberdeen Wanderers, whose U16s play for the Garrioch team, offered to host. Thank you all for a great day and great hospitality

Youth Rugby Match Report | U18 Boys v Garioch Away 13-9-23

The under 18s were away to Inverurie for the next match in the inspiresport Boy's U18 Caledonia Youth League.

A week after beating Highland in Orkney, the boys were after another victory and knew that it would be no easy feat playing Garioch at home.

We kicked off at 1030 and straight away, you could tell that Orkney were hungry for points.

Match Report | Dragons v Turriff 13-9-23

Saturday 13 September 2025 was the Dragons first game of the season in Caledonia North Division 2 against Turriff Ladies.

Unfortunately two teams have withdrawn so it is undecided how the league will progress but until then the fixtures remain as planned.

Before the game started, everyone present held a minute’s silence in memory for Rab Muir. A very much loved coach, who loved rugby, loved the Dragons, had the most infectious laugh to brighten up anyone’s day. This game was for him and we know he would have been proud of the performance today.

Great day for U12-14 Girls in Caithness | 7-9-2025

Sunday 7th September was a great day for the girls in Caithness.

The U14s girls played a three parts 9 aside against Caithness with a few Highlands players joining in

The tackling was really good and offloads kept the game fast paced, with orkney girls scoring tries both through and around the defence.Caithness was fighting back strongly with some good carries of their own and the game was well balanced.

As the game went the Orkney girls got tired and a few knocks on and turnover started tipping the balance ever slightly in Caithness favour (though the final score is blurry, Caithness coaches graciously said "we'll call it a draw" )

In the final game the girls got back on the pitch with determination. Slowing the game down with clean rucks, getting together as a team, they managed to hold their position again for the final part of the game! Great recovery and good rugby all round!

Playing on the main pitch, the U12s enjoyed 2 games in mixed teams with their Caithness counterparts. Great tackles on display from experienced and new alike.
