At halftime Orkney made some changes to their team. Angus Colts did not make it easy for them. Orkney kept it together & came out winners in their first game. The opposition picked Orkney’s player of the game, which went to Orkney no2 James Braddock. Orkney stayed on the pitch against Ellon. They knew this was going to be a hard game for them. U18s were very unlucky in this game, they fought hard from the start to the finish but could not get the win. Orkney Player in this game was no9 Tyler Wolstenholme.
U18s had a break of about 30 minutes before they found out who they were going to be playing in the next round. Instead of making the most of their break some Orkney lads went straight back on to play for Lochaber. U18s next game was another hard one for them, up against Stirling who went on to play in the final. Orkney tried everything they could in this game but could not get over the line with Stirling showing a strong defense. Orkneys player in this game was Finlay Waterson. The last game of the day for us was up against Angus Colts again. This was one of the best games of the day with Colts not wanting to let Orkney win again. Orkney lads could not have done any more in the way they played and got their second win of the day. Orkney player in this game was no3 Thorfinn Sinclair. They may have not won the tournament but where presented with the Spirit of Rugby trophy, for the way they played their games and showed respect on and of the pitch. ORFC U18s would like to thank Montrose for their Tournament and making us so welcome and look forward to the 7s next year. J.D. Comments are closed.
