Friday the 11th saw Shetland, Caithness & Orkney coaches under one roof for a 3 day stint to develop their coaching skills under supervision of Scottish Rugby Coach Educators Sinclair Patience and Gordon Lyon. The course saw 21 coaches come together to work through their UKCC Level 2 in preparation for coaching Youth and Adult Rugby. Each coach was introduced to a number of modules to develop their own personal style of coaching and gain a greater understanding of tactical development within the game.
After an evening of theory, Saturday and Sunday then gave our coaches the chance to test out their skills in delivering a variety of coaching tasks and challenges amidst some interesting Orkney weather conditions! Everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the course and significantly developed their own coaching deployment. More courses will soon make their way back to Orkney.
