Three Orkney teams are in action this weekend - the U16s & 1st XV are on the road on Saturday, while the women host Shetland Ladies at Picky.

Kick off times for Saturday:

Ross Sutherland U16s v Orkney U16s - approx 12:30 in Invergordon
Ellon v Orkney - 12:30pm in Ellon
Orkney Dragons v Shetland Ladies - 1pm at Picky

Orkney Dragons set off on their long journey to Stornoway hoping to make it four wins from four.
Upon arrival it was a very dreich day, grey sky, windy and raining so it was going to be a challenging game.

The game got underway with the Dragons receiving the kick. It took a minute for both sides to settle and adapt their playing style adjacent to the weather conditions.

Saturday 2nd October saw Orkney dragons travel to Caithness to take on the Caithness Krakens.Caithness has a new team, made up of some former Orkney players.

The day saw friends become opposition in a game that was very much of two halves.

A squad of 16 headed to Ross Sutherland on Sunday and were surprised to find some sunshine to play the match in.

Ross Sutherland had 11 players so 2 Orkney players went across to enable a 13 a side game to be played. It was agreed to make it 3 periods of 20 minutes to enable the Orkney players to rotate playing for Ross Sutherland.
