Birsay, Dounby & Finstown - Wednesday 19 June
It was an interesting day with people coming across to say hello and to have a look at what the car was all about – that’s when is wasn’t raining of course because, like Stromness on Monday, there wee some heavy showers when we were all diving for cover I only made 3 sales but it would be fair to say folk were interested in the Book and quite a few local shops, hotels and other retail outlets took order forms from and put them up as posters Next stops are at Deerness Community Centre between 1700 and 1800 on 2 July and St Margaret’s Hope next to Community Centre on 8 July between 1600 and 1800 Look foward to seeing you then- I.C. Despite barely surviving a "fine summer evening in Stromness" with a single piece of dry clothing, Ian Carse enjoyed a few good conversations with locals and tourists alike - covering rugby from Orkney to Georgia and selling a few books in the process!
If you missed out on grabbing a copy of the Anniversary Book in Stromness, Ian is looking forward to the next stage of his Car Book Sale this coming Wednesday 19 June when he will be in Birsay from 1530 until 1630, then Dounby between 1700 and 1800 and finishing off in Finstown between 1815 and 1915.
