*** UPDATE *** Neil gets his race underway on Saturday. Here's the live tracking URL for the weekend. Race starts at midday - Neil is #120 http://live.sportident.co.uk/glenmore24-18 Orkney RFC's departing Chairman, Neil McCartney, is pulling on his running shoes on 1st September in the Glenmore 24 hour race, where he will attempt to complete 100 miles and raise funds for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation: You can donate to his justgiving page here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Neil-McCartney2 Hi folks. Some of you may know that I have become a bit of a runner since I hung up my rugby boots a few years back. The distances have progressed from 3 miles to Half Marathons, full Marathons and Ultra Marathons. A month ago I ran for 62 miles round Tankerness Loch and within the following 5 weeks I ran 2 further Half Marathons and 2 further Marathons! Not bad for a 45 year old ex-prop!! Earlier this year, as their chosen charity, Orkney RFC raised funds for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. As departing Chairman and after getting in touch with the Foundation I was inspired to complete my biggest running challenge to date. Please read My Story here and feel free to donate and share as you see fit. Many thanks for your time. Neil
