Home tie for Orkney against National Cup Holders in Round 1

The Scottish Cup and National League Cup draws for the 2018/19 season have been made and Dumfries Saints, who shocked Kelso in the final of the inaugural National League Cup will travel to Orkney on Saturday 25th August.

Dumfries currently play in National League Division 2.

Four Orkney players in Penguins touring squad

Four Orkney players have been selected to tour the Philippines with the Penguins International Rugby Club.

Current 1st XV players Alex Kansour, James Linklater, & Dean Campbell along with Edinburgh based Mark Sinclair will join the invitational side for an 8 day tour.

League fixtures for 2018/19 announced

Scottish Rugby today announced the national league fixtures for the 2018/19 season in the newly sponsored Tennent’s Leagues.

The first round of Tennent’s National League Division 3 sees Carrick and Caithness make the step up from the regional leagues where they will face Haddington and Newton Stewart.
West of Scotland will be looking to bounce back after being relegated on points difference when they visit Orkney.

Well folks that's the Blue Door Week over and I would just like to thank all the Rugby Club Family for their donations and all the helpers who did a stint at the Blue Door.

Also I would like to thank the Blue Door staff for all their help. We raised a lod of cash and it is all down to you guys.

Orkney RFC are fundraising in the Blue Door, Victoria St, Kirkwall this week - so come along and grab a bargain & enter the weekly raffle. The shop is open 10am-4pm, Monday to Saturday.

Calcutta Cup coming to Orkney!

TOUCH RUGBY & CALCUTTA CUP VISIT
Thursday 14th June 2018
6 - 8pm at ORFC

The Calcutta Cup is coming to Orkney Rugby Club!
The historic cup, won by Scotland in February, will be in the county on Thursday 14th June and after visiting schools in Stromness & Kirkwall it'll be on display at Orkney RFC.

Alongside this visit we are hosting a touch rugby come and try session open to everyone from 6-8pm.

Touch is a game that can be played by anyone of any age and the teams can be mixed abilities, mixed age groups and mixed genders so anyone who fancies a game of touch come along to the club on Thursday night.
The games will be on the pitches behind and around the rugby club and all folk have to come along with is any sports playing gear (colours and styles don’t matters as we sort teams out on the night), and suitable footwear – boots, trainers or some other sporting footwear.

You will also have the chance to get a picture with the cup itself.
