At the weekend, Orkney RFC had three U16s and one U18 playing in National Shield finals for Caithness at the DAM Health Stadium in Edinburgh.
Rachel McNeish, Jasmin Brown & Paige Scott played for the U16s against Tayside, while Catherine Green joined ex-Orkney player Shannon Pasotti in the U18 side v Dundee Rugby.
Both were hard games, against more physical teams, under the blazing Edinburgh sun. Unfortunately, Caithness didn't bring either shield home but the girls put in a hard shift and didn't give up the fight, catching up in the second half (though not enough to take the win)

Quarter Final - Perthshire v Orkney
Perth, 13 March 2022
On Saturday morning a 21 strong Orkney under 16s team set off to travel South, stopping overnight in Dundee before travelling Sunday morning to meet Perthshire.
Perthshire, the winners of the Midlands Pool B section, hosted the Quarter Final knock-out Cup game at their grounds at North Inch, Perth.
Perthshire were unable to field an experienced front row for their scrum resulting in uncontested scrums, instantly changing the style of rugby that Orkney had prepared for.
