Tennent's National League Division 3
Haddington, Saturday 27th October 2018 Haddington RFC 0, Orkney RFC 37 On Saturday 27th October, the first XV travelled to East Lothian where they were up against a stuffy Haddington side who tackled very well in the first half, restricting Orkney to two penalties from James Linklater Half time: 0-6. Last Friday the ladies had a ‘Wear it pink’ night at training for breast cancer awareness. All the girls put a couple of pound in and today Beki and Paige proudly handed over £48 to our local Clan shop!
Such a worthy cause, and every little helps. Thanks to all who have registered so far in SCRUMS - the deadline has been extended by 2 weeks until Wednesday 14th November 2018. To keep in line with the new GDPR regulations, any person not registered by the deadline above, whose details were transferred over from the old data management system, will be deleted from SCRUMS. If this occurs, player history data will be lost and the individual will need to register as a new player. From 15th November 2018 onwards, any player who is not registered in SCRUMS will not be eligible to take part in National Competitions and must not play until their registration is complete. Registration of players not only allows for their participation in national competitions and selection on teamsheets, it also means that serious injury reports can be submitted through the new portal on SCRUMS and allows any players who have been cleared to play senior rugby to be correctly recorded. For these reasons, it is therefore vital that registration in SCRUMS takes place in the coming days. Please share this message with parents and guardians who are required to register players under the age of 18. For further info, please contact Olga Burton, or the SCRUMS team at [email protected]. Battle it out in teams with Clubhouse classics such as:
Flip Cup & Orange Balls. Also introducing Blow Cup, Magic Carpet & Movin’ on Cup! Teams cost £5 with money going towards travel funds! So rake out that skeleton onesie you bought last year and get competitive with your team mates! Tonight's joint Youth Rugby training session (Wed 24th Oct) has been called off.
Please let others know, thanks.

Pickaquoy, Saturday 20th October 2018 Orkney RFC 34, Carrick RFC 26 If you were neutral about the game of rugby, or not sure it was a game that you could interest you, last Saturday’s game at Pickaquoy could have changed your mind, as it was a game to enthuse anyone who enjoys sport and competition. From first to last this was a competitive game and a pulsating encounter played by two teams going all out for a win, and nobody in the fair sized crowd left before the final whistle, unless they had a ferry to catch. Here's your Orkney RFC team to play Carrick RFC tomorrow.
The men KO at 3pm at Picky this weekend, but come and grab an early pint and watch the Munster V Gloucester game at 1pm at the club first! |
