Joint Mini Rugby training - Sat 26 Feb

All rookies and minis from Kirkwall, East & West will be outside on the centre pitch on Saturday for lots of rugby fun!!
Make sure bairns have the appropriate clothing and footwear to keep nice and warm. There will be lots of running aroond and games!
It would be great to have a good turnout for this!

Rookies: 10-11am
Minis: 10-11.30am

Unfortunately, both the 1st XV & U18s games in Aberdeen have been called off due to snow, but the U16s are away to Invergordon on Sunday to play both Ross Sutherland & Moray/Huntly U16s in the Saltire Energy Caledonia Boys Youth Cup.

The format of this competition for the North Pool matches are 30 minute matches so Orkney U16s were faced with playing Caithness followed by Highland both matches played at Caithness RFC. A 21 player squad headed over with every player starting at least one of the matches.

On attempt three, the Orkney Dragons were finally on their way to play Peterhead for their final league game.

Unfortunately, game preparation was hindered due to split travel by the team. Some took the Hrossey to Aberdeen on the Friday night with the majority flying on Saturday morning.

Start your 6 nations Saturday with the U18s v Highland 12:30 at Picky before Wales v Scotland!

Meanwhile the Dragons are away to play their much rearranged game in Peterhead at 13:30 & the U16s have 2 cup games in Thurso from 1pm on Sunday.

YOUTH RUGBY | Fixtures Feb 2022

Both the Under 16 and U18 teams are taking part in the Saltire Energy Caledonia Boys Youth Cup this month.

On Saturday 12 February at 12:30, the Orkney RFC U18s join with Ross Sutherland & Caithness as “The North” U18s to host Highland RFC on the centre pitch at Picky prior to the Wales v Scotland, which will be shown in the clubhouse.

On Sunday 13, the U16s travel to Thurso to play two pool games against Highland & Caithness.

Six Nations 2022 kicks off this Saturday

Join us in the club on Saturday to watch the 2022 Six Nations from 13:30.

First up is Ireland v Wales at 14:15, followed by the Calcutta Cup match at 16:45.
There will be food available and “guess the score” & “1st try scorer” competitions.

Make sure you’ve joined our Fantasy Rugby league for clubhouse bragging rights!
