Founded in memory of Alexander Mill, it promotes mental wellbeing with a special invitation to the farming community.

Great weekend at first Scottish Inter-Island 10s Tournament

“I can’t believe I forgot the patties”

On 24 May 2024 an Orkney contingent travelled on the Hjaltland to Aberdeen to join fellow players in Glasgow for the first Inter Island 10s tournament organised by our very own ORFC Secretary, Silas Cox.

As these trips seem to go, there is usually a disaster. “I can’t believe I forgot the patties for the bus driver” were the words from Murray Simpson. We can confirm the bus driver was very upset.

Thankfully this was the only disaster of the weekend. On the plus side Simpson has twenty patties to get through.

Scottish Inter-Island 10s Tournament this weekend

An ORFC Men’s team & the Dragons are off to Glasgow this weekend for the Scottish Inter-Island 10s!

U18s round out their season at Montrose 7s tournament

Saturday 18th May marked the end of the 2023/24 season for the U18 boys, when they travelled down to Montrose for the Montrose Rugby 7s Tournament U18s.

Orkney’s first game in Pool A was against the home team Angus Colts. Orkney was a bit slow off the mark, allowing Colts to put the first points on the board.

Orkney regrouped and displayed a lot of good rugby and soon went in to the lead.

At halftime Orkney made some changes to their team. Angus Colts did not make it easy for them. Orkney kept it together & came out winners in their first game.
The opposition picked Orkney’s player of the game, which went to Orkney no2 James Braddock.

Final girls training of the season

U12/U14 girls last training of the season will be Monday 27th May at Picky outfields 5.45-7pm.

Well done to all the girls who took part in training and fixtures this season!

International Ticket Applications Open for Six Nations 2025

Applications are now open for Club members for the 2025 Guinness Six Nations Home games.

You will need an online ticketing account with Scottish Rugby in order to apply.

Please note that the club's allocation is based on the number of tickets that members apply for - THERE ARE NO "SPARE TICKETS". So, "If you don't ask now, you won't get later!"

DEADLINE for entries is Wed 28 August.

Club Awards Night 2024

The Annual Orkney RFC Awards Night Presentation will be held at the Rugby Club on Friday 21st June.at 6:30pm - First awards presented at 7pm sharp

There will be a finger buffet & live music by Fattie Cutties.
Ticket Prices: Over 18s - £10; Under 18s - FREE

All sections of the club are invited: Rookies & Minis; all youth age groups boys & girls; Seconds & Internal; Dragons and First Fifteen.

It would also be great to have as many parents come along as possible to see the youngsters getting their rewards! Sponsors & Spectators very welcome!

Fantastic International Rugby experience for Orkney U16 player

On Saturday 4th May 2024, Cailynn Williamson travelled down to Gala RFC to join up with the rest of the Scotland Selkies U16 squad for an International Rugby Festival at Netherdale.

A series of fixtures had been arranged against other girls sides from the Netherlands, Wales (Rygbi Gogledd Cymru) & Scotland Scathach.

Orkney Sevens 2024 Roundup

Orkney RFC made it 5 in a row at Picky on Saturday, after defeating serial Plate winners, the Ale Stars 36-7 to win the Orkney Builders (Contractors) Ltd Sevens title

Congratulations to the Caithness Krakens, who were again awarded the Margaret Lanni Memorial Trophy for best women’s team. Inverness Craig Dunain were runners-up in the round robin tournament.
