There is a Coaching essentials course this Saturday, 25 April at ORFC from 9am - 5pm.

The course is open to all over 15s and it’s free of charge

Youth Rugby Runathon 2026 final total

.Huge congratulations to all those who participated in the Runathon, and a massive thank you to all those who volunteered and donated!

We now have the final gift aid payment and can announce that an amazing £19,866.31 was raised in total!
Absolutely fantastic effort by all involved!

Orkney Rugby Sevens 2026

The 57th Annual Orkney Sevens tournament takes place at Picky from 1-3 May.

Friday 1st - the U16/18 girls & boys tournaments take place from 6-8pm.

Saturday 2nd - Team Registration starts at 11:00am, draw at 11:30 and the Main Tournaments start at 12:00 on the outfield pitches.

Mini & Rookies Rugby Tournaments start 10:00: players are to meet at the mini pitches at 9:45am

Entertainment - along with the rugby, there will be live music, raffles, pitch-side food & refreshments available throughout the afternoon.
Card & cash payments accepted at the Food & Refreshments Tents
Entry is £5 (including programme) - head past the clubhouse to the outfield pitches.

BRINGING ALCOHOL INTO THE GROUNDS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED

In the evening, there is a Marquee Dance with live music from 6pm and Northern Limit at 8pm.
Admission is £20 - Over 18s Only - ID & wristband required for entry

Sunday 3rd May – Boozy brunch from 12:00

Club Awards Night 2026

The Annual Orkney RFC Awards Night Presentation will be held at the Rugby Club on Friday 17th June at 17:30 - First awards presented at 6:00pm sharp!
Ticket Prices: Over 18s - £10; Under 18s - FREE

All sections of the club are invited: Rookies & Minis; all youth age groups boys & girls; 2nds & Internal; Dragons and 1st XV.

It would also be great to have as many parents come along as possible to see the youngsters getting their rewards! Sponsors & Spectators very welcome!

Orkney RFC at The Blue Door 7-11 April 2026

We’re delighted to let everyone know that Orkney Rugby Club will be running The Blue Door charity shop for 5 days from Tuesday 7th - Saturday 11th April.
Opening hours are 09:30 - 16:00 each day.

If you’re having a clear-out or have any unwanted Christmas presents, we’d be hugely grateful if you could keep them aside for the club.

We also need 1 volunteer each morning on Tue to Fri from 10:00-13:00 to assist in the shop and 1 person on Saturday afternoon from to 13:00-16:00 do the till.

ORFC Youth Teams Sponsored Runathon - Sat 31 Jan 2026

3-hour sponsored track run

On Saturday 31st January 2026, prior to the 1st XV game, approximately 200 youth members will take to the track at Pickaquoy in a three hour sponsored “Runathon” to raise some much needed funds for the club.

With a dozen teams competing in leagues, friendlies and festivals throughout Scotland, costs for the Orkney RFC Youth Section alone is approaching £90k annually which is only partially funded through grants and sponsorship.

Two senior games are taking place on the same day, with opposing teams visiting from Preston Lodge and Stornoway, making this a great day of fun, fundraising and rugby for ORFC.

Farewell to Rab Muir - Friday 24 October 2025

There will be an evening at the club on Friday 24 October to celebrate the life of Rab Muir who passed away in August.

Everyone is very welcome to come along to the clubhouse to pay tribute to the man, the teammate, the coach, and the friend we were all so lucky to have.

7pm for a 7:30 start.

Prize draw tickets are still available from committee members and in the clubhouse.

You could win two tickets to the Scotland v France Six Nations game plus £600 spending money, as well as various other prizes.

Tickets are £1 each

Also can everyone selling tickets please return them asap, preferably sold, but if you are struggling to sell them, get them returned so that others can sell/buy them.
This is a big fundraiser for the club and we need as many to be sold as possible!

The draw is on Saturday 25th October at the club after the 1st XV game against Lasswade.
