The lads arrived at RGC Countesswells to a very windy day.

The first half began with both teams looking fairly even, Orkney scoring the first try with Kinross replying with 2 tries and 1 conversion in quick succession.

Congratulations to Lucy Rendall Flett!

Lucy has been awarded Volunteer of the Season for Youth Rugby – Caledonia North by Scottish Rugby at Murrayfield!

A true inspiration both on and off the field, Lucy dedicates her time to coaching the U16 boys’ team, while also serving as their pitch-side medic, mentor, and rugby mum.
Her dedication, passion, and commitment to the sport and her players make her truly deserving of this recognition.

Orkney Rugby Football Club are looking for a Community Rugby Coach to assist the Rugby Development Officer.

Candidates must have an interest in delivering rugby, have good communication skills, be flexible and have a positive attitude.

The role will focus on delivering high quality coaching sessions in schools, clubs and organisations to leave a lasting impact on the local community. The role is suited to someone with a passion for coaching and rugby.

Owen Spence – Glasgow Warriors U16 Selection!

Huge congratulations to Owen Spence on his selection for the Glasgow Warriors U16 squad! A well-deserved achievement after all his hard work and dedication.

Owen found out on Monday evening that training was happening tonight, so after a full morning at school, he headed straight to the airport at lunchtime, caught his flight, and will be hitting the training pitch this evening.

Then, it’s straight back to school tomorrow - because exams don’t wait!

A huge shoutout to all our high-performing athletes who regularly travel off-island for training and games, balancing their sporting ambitions with school and other commitments. It takes serious dedication, and we’re proud of every single one of you!

Autumn International 2025 Ticket Applications now open

Club members are now able to apply for tickets for the 2025 Autumn Nations Series games in November.

You will need an online ticketing account with Scottish Rugby in order to apply.

Please note that the club's allocation is based on the number of tickets that members apply for - THERE ARE NO "SPARE TICKETS". So, "If you don't ask now, you won't get later!"

DEADLINE for entries is Monday 21 April.

Gala RFC U16s v Caledonia Saltires U16s - 16-3-25

Owen Spence and Balfour Norquoy were called up for Caledonia Saltires U16 in regional matches being played at Gala RFC on Sunday 16th March.
The Saltires played three 30 minute games against Glasgow, Borders and Edinburgh.
The Caley side came away with three wins where the team showed some great skill and physicality. Owen and Balfour both contributing well to these wins.

Huge congratulations to our Orkney U16s, the Inspiresport Boys’ U16 Caledonia North League Winners 2024/2025!

An incredible achievement by a hardworking and dedicated squad - your efforts on and off the pitch have paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder!

A massive shoutout to our incredible coaching team - head coach Graeme Ramage, along with Trevor Spence, Stewart Spence, and Lucy Flett for their unwavering dedication, guidance, and passion in developing this team.

And, of course, a special thank you to Tracy Stanger, our amazing ‘momager,’ whose behind-the-scenes organisation keeps everything running smoothly and helps make achievements like this possible!

U16s in action for Caley North - Sunday March 2 2025

Owen Spence and Balfour Norquoy were selected to represent Caley North in the U16 matches.

On Sunday, March 2nd, they traveled to Stirling County Rugby Club to compete against two Glasgow teams in the U16 Caley matches. Caley North displayed impressive physicality, skill, and teamwork, moving the ball fluidly across the field. Their strong performance led to two convincing 25-5 victories over Glasgow.
