Later on in the day the Club was REALLY busy after the Parish Cup final and that too gave Club funds a further boost.
Our 50th Anniversary Book continues to sell well via Club members and through both The Orcadian Bookshop and LOGO – so much so that we have now less than 100 books remaining.
As has been said before there will not be any re-print of the Book and once the current stock has gone no more will be available. If people want to order a book they can contact Ian Carse or another member of the ORFC Committee to have one set aside for them. Ian’s email is firstname.lastname@example.org and his mobile number is O7415 680706. Books cost £25 per copy.
On the 31st August, Orkney Dragons will kick off at 12 noon against Peterhead and the Orkney Men’s First XV will kick off at 1500 against Blairgowrie. On that day the raffle for 2 books signed by Dee Bradbury, the President of the SRU, will be drawn, so make sure you grab your raffle tickets!. This is a great chance to get a unique ORFC Book so don’t miss your chance!!
Another great initiative to do with the Book will start on 31st August – Brian Lanni, the ORFC Club President, has asked for an anniversary book to be set aside so that every member of ORFC past and present, particularly those mentioned and or photographed in the Book can sign it, and then the signed book wil be kept in the Club’s Trophy cabinet for posterity. This is great idea so come along on 31st August and help Brian to start the signing quest.
Meantime remember that there is another great raffle being run by Gary Coltherd with the top prize being two tickets for the next Scotland v France game at Murrayfield and your plane tickets thrown in as part of the deal – a TOP prize by any standards!!! Get in touch with Gary, or any Club member to get tickets or come along to the home games on the next two Saturday’s 17th and 24th to buy tickets in person.
