JOB OPPORTUNITY - Club Coach 2016-17 Season

In anticipation of our 50th season, Orkney RFC, building on recent successes and after sustained focus on Youth Rugby, are now seeking to appoint a new Club Coach. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the Senior Club coaching, with particular emphasis on maximising player potential and developing the ORFC First XV further. Currently Orkney RFC hold a position in BT National League 3, having gained promotion from Caledonia Regional Leagues in season 2014-15 despite having no recognised coach but with a  stated ambition to go further in future seasons.

You will preferably be qualified to at least UKCC Level 2, or working towards achieving this level, with previous coaching experience, be able to demonstrate both good communication and motivational skills whilst providing strong leadership of the group.

Key responsibilities of the role will include planning, developing and managing coaching sessions (currently held twice a week); players retention and recruitment; individual player development; assisting First XV Manager and Captain with team selections; taking the lead role ‘pitch-side’ at home matches and also at frequent away fixtures.

The position is currently a voluntary role, however reasonable expenses, inc assistance with any potential re-location, will be considered by the Management committee.
