BT Women's North League Banff - Saturday 28th October Banff Ladies 0, Orkney Women 72 On Saturday 28th October, the ladies played their second league game of the season away to Banff. Due to the weather issues the travel was not the best for the team however they arrived in good spirits. The game started with Orkney receiving the kick off attacking the clubhouse end of the pitch. After some good opening phases Orkney opened the scoring with a break out wide scored and converted by Amy Walker. Seconds later Orkney were back on the attack building pressure in the Banff 22. The pressure then paid off with Charlene Nicol scoring the second Orkney try. Amy again broke down the wing to score her second of the day. Orkney were controlling the ball well in both the scrum and lineout also regularly turning Banff over at the rucks. With this control Orkney scored 2 more tries before half time both scored by Paige Archibald and converted by Amy Walker. Score at half time 31-0 to Orkney. In the second half Orkney continued their attacking style of rugby with a early score in the second half for Amy getting her 3rd of the day and also converting. Banff however did come back into the game and built a lot of pressure in the Orkney 22 but the defence help and cleared there line. Orkney soon got back to scoring tries with Lucy Flett scoring 2 in quick succession. With one converted by Amy Walker. Paige then scored her 3rd try of the afternoon completing a well deserved hat trick. The 10th try came from Stacey Tualasea after a strong break in the middle of the park. Amy then scored her 4th try which she also converted. The Final try of the afternoon went to Bethany who was on the pitch for a matter of seconds. Captain’s thoughts: The Dragons did really well to produce a solid performance after what was an unpleasant sail down from Orkney. The team followed the game plan which resulted in a fairly clinical period of scoring right from the outset. I was delighted with the improvements in communication and the overall positivity coming from the players. We still have plenty to work on and we are looking forward to welcoming Banff back in Orkney this Sunday 5th October KO 1230 Pickaquoy Center Pitch Orkney Team-
