Inverness Craig Dunain Ladies 5, Orkney Dragons 32
First half kick off by ICD received by our girls who ran straight back at the opposition and with a good set of through the hands passing put them up to ICD’s 22 followed by a driving run from Jennifer Scott scoring the first try 0-5.
There followed a number of good defensive moves by the Dragons initiated by Beki Russell and Nikita Scollie producing good progression into the ICD half with direct running by the team allowed a driving push from Stacey Tualasea to run in try number two 0-10 the half time score.
There followed various attacks from ICD with strong defence by the Dragons but a high tackle from Lucy Flett left them down a man for a sin bin.
This action seemed to galvanise the Dragons determination with Jo Inkster running in two tries in quick succession one converted by Nikita Scollie 5-27.
In good tackling unfortunately Megan Foubister lead with the head with one of the ICD players and got benched with a HIA.
Karen Allan came on plus number of tactical changes at that time brought on Caitlin Campbell, Amy King and first cap for Alison Marwick.
There followed a number of strong defensive plays by the Dragons holding ICD at bay gradually pushing them back and with an inspired play through gaps in the ICD line Rachael Thomson played a fantastic offload to Karen Allan allowing her to shoot through the ICD defence to score the final try finishing off the game 5-32 for the Orkney Dragons.
