It was a match played in 'four seasons in one day' conditions with torrential rain giving way to sunny skies.
Dumfries showed why they are undefeated at the top of National League Division 3, and were a well-disciplined unit all round. They had the bulk of possession and territory in both halves and Orkney were perhaps fortunate not to lose by more, the visitors missing a couple of penalties and conversions.
Orkney had their best spell late in the second half, when they scored their only try, but it was too little too late.
