Orkney RFC retained the Orkney Builders (Contractors) Ltd Sevens title for the 4th time in a row at Pickaquoy on Saturday, 29 April beating first time army visitors 3 Scots, who were a welcome addition to the tournament. The full time score was 31-12 in an entertaining final.
The Women’s winners were Caithness A, defeating Orkney Dragons 19-0, but unfortunately they had to leave for their boat home before the presentations.
Elsewhere, the Ale Stars secured the Plate, defeating Grangemouth Stags 24-19 after extra time in a thrilling final
The Bowl - contested by third placed teams - went to Neeps & Tatties and the Scrumbags were awarded the Pail after successfully managing to lose all their games!
Cady Dunoon was nominated Women's Player of the tournament, the Grangemouth Anniversary Quaich for young player of the tournament was awarded to James Donohoe, while the Keith Hutchison Memorial Trophy for best Orkney RFC player of the tournament went to Scott Rendall.
