Youth Rugby Report | U13/14s in Caithness 30-10-22

Orkney travelled to Thurso on Sunday 30 October with two mixed U13/14 teams (Orkney White/Red and Orkney Yellow/Black) for games against Caithness U14s. The two Orkney sides played 30 minutes each.

Caithness were missing a lock forward today so had 14 players. For Orkney Red/White v Caithness, Scott Slater played for Caithness. For Orkney Yellow/Black v Caithness, Kieran Gray played for Caithness.

As we had time to spare, we had a 20 minute Orkney v Orkney game with Nathan from Caithness playing for the Orkney Yellows.

While Owen Spence ran in the most tries in the match against Caithness, the score could have been completely different had it not been for the all action performance from Ali Wylie - who tackled hardest of anyone in his team. A mention must go to Thorfinn Thomson, who converted every kick he took.

Good solid work from the front three, with strong carries from Wilbur, John and Alfie plus support from Kieran, Sonny, Harvey and Thorfinn Foubister.

Good ball carrying and support play from Balfour, Magnus, Dylan and Matthew. Try of the day by Kaelan Spence, who started the move himself and looped round to collect at pace from winger Ruari Wood's excellent offload follwing a draw and pass from Thomas Corrigall.

Highest tackle count for the Yellows v Caithness was Dylan Squire, whose workrate was solid in all areas. Joel Hamilton and Thomas Corrigall combined well as half backs, with the ball moving quickly off the pack to provide a link to the backline.

Next for the Orkney U14s is a home game against Deeside RFC on the 5th of November.
