Season 2024-25 Memberships & Fixture Card

The Senior, Junior and Social membership forms have been updated for the new season and the new fixture card is now available to download in PDF format.

Please note the changes in membership fees (anyone paying by standing order is asked to make sure it is up to date):

Senior Playing Member (1st / 2nd / Ladies) - £100
Junior Player: 1st Child - £30, Additional Children - £15
Student Player (Over 18 & in full time education) - £30
Social member (non-playing) - £40

Players / parents are reminded that they must also update their SCRUMS registration in addition to completing a membership form as well as paying membership fees before players are eligible to play rugby.
Also, please ensure that any EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBERS in the SCRUMS system are up to date

Five Orkney RFC Youth teams represented this weekend 7-9-24

Our youth teams are ready to represent the club away this weekend!

• Our newly formed U14 Girls squad are away to Lochaber in their first official league fixture.

• Playing for Caithness U16s against Dundee RFC this weekend we have: Katherine Baillie, Alaina Wishart, Dana Nicolson and Alissa Omand.

• Cailynn Williamson, Emma Muir and Anne Smith kick off their first U18 appearances for Caithness against Cambuslang RFC (away).

• The U18s are on the road before supporting the U16 boys away!

Having 5 different age groups/sections representing this weekend is a result of the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches - the future of ORFC is looking bright!

Orkney youth players head off to Perth on Rugby Scholarship

The club would like to wish youth players Michael Scarth and Ronan Hamilton all the best as they start their season of rugby scholarship at Glenalmond College in Perth.

Michael and Ronan have played since Minis and Rookies at Dounby, continuing right up to U16 with Orkney RFC when they both were selected for Caledonia Player Development Hub (PDH) programmes.

They both were selected for the Caledonia squad representing the U16 level, with Michael also stepping up to U18 in one match and both lads then going on to represent Glasgow Warriors at U16 level.

Michael and Ronan were delighted to be offered a scholarship to continue their rugby journey.

Both are at U18 level now and look forward to their scholarship to progress their rugby and the academic year ahead

Everyone at Orkney Rugby Football Club will be following you on your next chapter and wish you both all the very best.
We are all very proud of you both!

Exciting News: Warm Up Wednesday is Launching!

We're thrilled to announce the launch of ‘Warm Up Wednesday’, and we can't wait to welcome all our youth players to the club before training.

The rugby club will be open from 3:30pm and it's the perfect way to kick off the evening! Grab a snack and enjoy a game of pool, or a have quick chat with your coaches and fellow players. It's a great chance to bond, build team spirit, and get in the right mindset before training starts.

A quiet space will be available to support your studies. Whether you need a quiet space to finish up homework, want some help with a tricky subject, or just want to get ahead, this is your time to focus and get things done

We are looking forward to seeing you all there!

Six Nations 2025 AWAY Tickets Application

Club members are invited to apply for 2025 Guinness Six Nations AWAY game tickets v France & England.

You will need an online ticketing account with Scottish Rugby in order to apply.

Please note that the club's allocation is based on the number of tickets that members apply for - THERE ARE NO "SPARE TICKETS". So, "If you don't ask now, you won't get later!"

DEADLINE for entries is Sunday 22 September

New posts for the ‘Hup pitch

As the club continues to grow, some weekends there could be up to 7 different teams playing at home!

Thanks to the hard work of club members and sponsorship from local businesses, we are delighted that new rugby posts have now been installed at the St Margaret’s Hope School and we now have an additional pitch for our growing club!

The new posts have been made by Scottish Sea Farms and were delivered by The Garrett Brothers. Local businesses and club members/coaches were at hand yesterday to help with installing them ready for the first rugby game being played on them this weekend.

Thank you Erlend Wood, Silas Cox, Andrew Thomson, Steve Kolthammer and to everyone else involved!

Over £800 raised for U16/18 equipment at Orkney Riding Club Summer Show

On the 13th and 14th of July Orkney Riding Club had their Summer Show at Swartland Farm.

Sharon Wylie along with Rugby Mums and Supporters provided the catering for the event, where they raised £805 and very generously dedicated these proceeds towards providing a large number of Sub Coats and kit bags between the ORFC U18 and the U16 sections.

The Orkney RFC U18 and U16 sections are delighted to receive such a kind offer and wish to thank the following people for their help and donations to achieve this:

Thanks goes to Sharon Wylie, Anna Davidson, Isla Dougall , Norna Sinclair, Sandra Doyle for organising and serving, with baking provide by Carol Moncrief, Ellie Newlands, Isla Dougall, Leona Sinclair, Teresa Sinclair, Kim Hamilton, Sandra Doyle, James Braddock, Finlay Dantith and Sharon Wylie.

Special thanks also to Rendall's Bakery for donating rolls, to E Flett Butcher for donating sausages and to Alison Meason for donating £25 of winnings from the Lucky Squares, also thanks to the Orkney Riding Club and to Steven Wylie for setting up, providing the facilities and power.

Full house of celebrations for ORFC Youths away this weekend!

Caledonia Thistles U16 played Glasgow and West Blues at 12pm with Balfour Norquoy in the team.
Balfour played well - tackled well and protected rucks good. Caley got the win with the score being 39-26.

Caledonia Saltires U16 played Glasgow and West Whites at 2pm. Owen Spence played in the team. Owen played well putting in strong tackles and carries the ball well. Caley got the win 54-22.

Caledonia U18 played Glasgow & West at 4pm. Michael Scarth stepping up to play for them this weekend and put in a strong performance and by no means out of place being up an age group.

Well done lads you have all done Orkney proud!
